It’s semi-miraculous, but here it is, the Technique of the Month, right on the first day!  Tyler Rolland  shows us a cool little guard pass in this month’s edition.  Hope you guys enjoy it, see you soon!

On Saturday night, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Jamie Varner made his triumphant return to the UFC.  Facing previously undefeated Brazilian Edson Barboza, Jamie ended the night early and emphatically, finishing his opponent by first round TKO.  We are very proud of Jamie’s great efforts, not only in the victory on Saturday night, but also on the long road back to the UFC.

Good job Jamie, we are all very proud of you!

Never strangers to busy days, the Lab Elite Fight Team has four fighters stepping into the cage tonight.  In Prescott Valley, AZ, at the WMMA event, Ashley Gooch (205), Kelley Oser (155), and Yaotzin Meza (145) are ready to go for fledgling operation. Ashley will be making his debut with the team, having recently relocated from Colorado, and is excited for this contest. Kelley Oser,  a remarkable 6-0 as an amateur fighter, is making his pro debut in this event.  Kelley has been training hard, and is ready for this new challenge. One of the most consistent performers on our team is Yaotzin Meza, who looks to extend his current win streak to 7, and run his record to 19-6 in this fight tonight.

Yaotzin’s brother, Victor Meza (170), is in Ft. Hood, TX, making his long awaited return to the ring.  Ben will be cornering “El Gallo Negro” for this bout, as Victor looks to earn his 11th victory of his pro career.

Our team has trained hard, and is ready to face the challenges that stand in front of us.  All of us are so proud of these guys, and are excited to see them have great performances tonight.  Love you guys, have a great time!

Chris Gruetzemacher went to El Paso, TX with a 9-1 record, and a desire to move up the ladder in competition.  He drew a tough Frank Gomez, a WEC veteran who trains at the renowned Jackson’s Mixed Martial Arts in Albuquerque, NM. Gritz came out with a dominating first round stoppage via TKO, and confirmed to everyone that it is time for him to compete with the elite martial artists in the UFC.  We are so proud of Chris and the hard work and perseverance he has shown to get to this point, and we all look forward to a great future.  Hope you all enjoy the video!

Chris Gruetzemacher is in El Paso, Texas, getting ready to take on Frank Gomez in the WMMA on March 31. Gritz has been on a tear, winning 8 fights in a row, and is ready for the Jackson’s MMA fighter on Saturday.  Gritz is a Lab original, training there since the doors opened, and we are tremendously proud of the years of hard work that have gone into this opportunity.  Good luck on Saturday Gritz, it is your turn to step into that spotlight.

Last day of fight camp

Some of the fighters at the MMA Lab took the time to answer some questions for us and the results are great.  Sometimes funny, sometimes serious, these guys are the best at what they do, and this video helps us get to know them just a little bit better.  Thanks to Ben Henderson, Efrain Escudero, Chris Gruetzemacher,  Yaotzin Meza and Kelley Oser for taking the time and sharing themselves with us.

Tonight Geiner Rojas was awarded his blue belt! Geiner is a great guy and has worked very hard to achieve this milestone.  Congratulations Geiner, you deserve it!
